About Me
My life story...
After graduating from high school in 2006, I spent one semester at UTS studying to be a nurse, only to realise that I did not have the passion or drive to pursue this course. I then spent one year studying science at UTS, only to realise (again) that I was not happy with this direction. My love for science was there, but there wasn't enough excitement. Thankfully, I had an epiphany that transformed my whole life. I knew I had the desire to help, enjoyed a challenge, and did not want to be stuck in an office or lab. The one element that was in front of me all along... I loved to work with children. I enjoyed the company of my nephews and nieces and found it easy to establish relationships with them. Of course I had to be sure that teaching was the career path I wanted to take. With the help of friends, I started a new job as an active after school deliverer. From the first day of AASC (Active After School Care), I knew that I wanted to be a primary school teacher. Without further ado, I enrolled into Bachelor of Education at ACU to commence in 2009. My passion in teaching has only developed and grown since. My goal... to be the best possible teacher I can be.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that it is imperative to have the knowledge and understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of your students. Each student should be given the same opportunities despite their background, SES, and ability. I believe in a holistic and inclusive approach to teaching. The ability to adapt in teaching strategies and techniques is important to cater for the different learning styles and assists students in reaching their full potential. I believe that in order to promote a positive learning environment, lessons need to be fun, engaging, and relevant to the students using real-life experiences. The teacher (myself) must be a positive role model for the students, be able to utilise technology, be patient, encouraging, organised, approachable, creative, flexible, fair, and passionate. |
